Our Mandate

THE C4JT MANDATE IS AS FOLLOWS:
#1 - Drugs and crime are keeping many people and families in great bondage. Thus, we realize that there is much spiritual darkness covering and attacking jails and the criminal justice system. But our faith is in the Lord God Almighty! Our scriptural promise is, "The battle belongs to the Lord!" (Deuteronomy 20:4, 1 Samuel 17:47, 2 Chronicles 20:15, 17, Proverbs 21:31, Zechariah 4:6, Romans 8:37, 1 Corinthians 15:57, 2 Corinthians 10:4, Ephesians 6:12, James 4:7)
#2 - The Bible has all the answers for every human need, especially the deep needs within our local jails. Our scriptural foundation for all aspects of the C4JT approach is found in Proverbs 15. (We are developing a comprehensive write-up of all the verses that apply and how they inform the details of our approach.)
#3 - Our primary focus is on equipping the Church! Our core belief is that there can be no lasting transformation in a human life -- or in a local jail facility -- without the power of God. Thus, the local church is the agent of personal transformation, just as the local jail can be the facilitator of community transformation. Our scriptural promise is from Ephesians 4:12: "...for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ..." (HCSB)
